An investor recently filed a lawsuit against Bankrate Inc (NYSE:RATE) for false and misleading statements made to investors and the public. The investor has argued that the statements are in violation of Federal Securities Laws and that Bankrate Inc should be held accountable for issuing these statements. There were various alleged false and misleading statements made between June 16, 2011 and October 15, 2012.

On October 8, 2013, an investor initiated a lawsuit against Achillion Pharmaceuticals (ACHN) for issuing false and misleading statements to those who purchased securities from April 21, 2012 to September 27, 2013. The investor filed the lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut. Achillion Pharmaceuticals also allegedly misled individuals about the safety and suitability of its new drug used to treat hepatitis. The new drug is named Sovaprevir.

KiOR Inc. is a company that makes biofuels from non-food biomass with recently patented technology. Projected production was three to five million gallons of gas, diesel, and other alternative fuels in 2013. Shareholders have accused KiOR company management of providing false information regarding production to inflate stock prices.

On August 15, 2013, an investor who previously purchased stock shares from Meadowbrook Insurance Group, Inc. filed a class action lawsuit on behalf of everyone who purchased stocks from Meadowbrook Insurance Group, Inc. against this company in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. In the lawsuit, the investor alleges that Meadowbrook Insurance Group, Inc. committed violations of Federal Securities laws by making false and misleading statements between July 30, 2012 and August 8, 2013.

On August 15, 2013, an investor who purchased shares of stock from ECOtality Inc. filed a class action lawsuit against them in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California for violating Federal Securities laws through making false and misleading statements between April 16, 2013 and August 9, 2013.

A class action lawsuit alleging a breach of investors' trust has been filed against Molycorp Inc. On August 14, 2013, an investor who previously bought some of Molycorp's stocks filed a lawsuit against Molycorp Inc. in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, alleging that they committed violations of Federal Securities laws through making false and misleading statements between August 2, 2012 and August 7, 2013.

A lawsuit has been filed in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois alleging that Inteliquent Inc. committed alleged violations of Federal Security laws by allegedly making false and misleading statements. The suit, which was filed on August 9, 2013, alleges that certain statements made by the officers and directors of Inteliquent between May of 2012 and August 2013 allegedly misled purchasers of Inteliquent stock about the true status and direction of the company, leaving them helpless when the Inteliquent stock price began to relentlessly decline.

An individual who purchased shares of Polycom Inc stock has filed a lawsuit against the company. This individual claims that the company made false and misleading statements that did not reflect their actual company expenses, affecting the value of their stock unfairly. These statements allegedly occurred between July 24, 2012, and June 23, 2013.

A lawsuit has been filed in the U.S District Court for the Central District of California by an investor who bought shares of JAKKS Pacific, Inc. (NASDAQ:JAKK.) The investor in question is alleging that JAKKS Pacific, Inc. has acted in violation of Federal Securities Laws. These alleged violations are said to have happened during the time period between February 21st 2013 and July 17th 2013 and are connected to statements that were allegedly false or misleading.
